Randstad Business Support - London is seeking ambitious individuals to join a leading manufacturing operation on the production floor. You will train on state-of-the-art machinery, build expertise, and lay a solid foundation for your future in a hands-on role.

Role: Machine/Production Operative. Location: DS Smith, South Mills, The Ridgeway, Blunham, Bedford MK44 3PH. Rate: £15.96 per hour with overtime available; contract length: Temp - perm depending on performance.

Qualifications

• Can do attitude and willingness to learn are essential for starting on a production line.
• Strong verbal and written communication helps in line with teammates and supervisors.
• Ability to stand and perform manual tasks for long periods is required.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, including days, nights and weekends, is needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate/manoeuvre machinery on the production floor.
• Keep work area and machines clean and orderly at all times.
• Follow Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
• Quality check produced items to meet standards.
• Respond to customer demands in a timely manner.
• Carry out other duties as requested by the shift manager.

Role: Machine/Production Operative

Location: DS Smith, South Mills, The Ridgeway, Blunham, Bedford MK44 3PH

Rate: £15.96 per hour with overtime available

Contract length: Temp - perm depending on performance

Shift Patterns: 6:00 AM/PM to 6:00 PM/AM (12-hour shifts including Days, Nights and weekends)

A typical working pattern would look similar to this:

WK1: Day shift: Mon, Tues work - Weds, Thurs off - Fri, Sat, Sun work

WK2: Day shift: Mon, Tues off - Weds, Thurs work - Fri, Sat, Sun off

WK3: Night shift: Mon, Tues work - Weds, Thurs off - Fri, Sat, Sun work

WK4: Night shift: Mon, Tues off - Weds, Thurs work - Fri, Sat, Sun off

Responsibilities:

• Managing the setting and running of machinery

• Keeping work area and machines clean and tidy

• Working in line with Health and Safety guidance and processes at all times

• Quality checking product

• Adhering to customer demands in a timely manner

• Completing any other duties relevant to the department as requested by the shift manager

Essential requirements:

• Can do attitude

• Willing to learn and develop

• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment desirable

• Strong verbal and written communication

• Comfortable being on foot for long periods of time

• Able to conduct manual handling

• The flexibility to work all shifts mentioned (nights and weekends)
