Job summary

Moulton Bulb Co. Ltd is seeking a production operator to operate and oversee production machinery in the process area, ensuring efficient output, product quality and compliance with hygiene, health and safety, and food safety standards.

You will carry out pre-starter checks, ensure staff follow safety and hygiene procedures, and complete production control paperwork while maintaining on-time orders to customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of operating machinery in the food industry is essential.
• Good communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the business and visitors/auditors.
• A friendly, approachable and flexible attitude to work.
• Ability to follow procedures and work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Operate all machinery safely within health and safety guidelines
• Carry out and record pre-starter checks
• Ensure all staff in the area follow hygiene, health and safety and production procedures
• Complete paperwork as required on production control
• Ensure machines run efficiently and orders are produced on time to customer specs
• Comply with the quality manual to meet customer specifications and legal requirements
• Monitor raw materials and flag issues to Factory Manager and Quality team
• Keep machinery and work surfaces clean under the company Clean as You Go policy
• Ensure visitors follow entry procedures and are suitably dressed
• Support management to meet and maintain the requirements of the BRC standard

Job description

Job Purpose

Responsible for operating and overseeing production machinery within the process area, ensuring efficient production, product quality, and compliance with hygiene, health and safety, and food safety standards.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Operate all machinery safely within health and safety guidelines
• Carry out and record pre-starter checks
• Ensure all staff working in the area follow the procedures in place for hygiene, health and safety and production related matters
• Complete paperwork as required on production control
• Ensure machines run efficiently and orders are produced on time to the correct customer specifications
• Comply with and follow procedures within the quality manual for Goldwood to ensure product produced meets customer specification and also legal requirements.
• Monitor raw material and flag any issues to the Factory Manager and Quality team
• Ensure all machinery, work surfaces and equipment are kept clean in accordance with the company “Clean as You Go” policy.
• Make sure all visitors entering the factory have followed the correct entry procedure and is suitably dressed.
• Provide assistance to management to meet and maintain the requirements of the BRC standard

Person Specification
