Job summary

Moulton Bulb Co. Ltd is seeking motivated Production Operatives to join our busy dayshift in the packhouse. You will pack onions and other products, ensuring quality, safety and cleanliness on the line.

The role involves lifting up to 17 kg, following line leader guidance, and reporting issues promptly. We offer training and development as part of a family-run business that values its people.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be physically capable of lifting heavy objects and performing demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in packing and quality checks.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Pack onions and other products as directed by Line Leaders/Team Leaders.
• Check all packaging for damage (e.g., split seals, damaged nets).
• Ensure produce is packed to quality standards and remove defective items from the line.
• Carry, lift up to 17kg, push and pull trays/products as required.
• Keep packaging trays clean and work area tidy and safe.
• Operate hand and automatic clippers safely and report issues to Line Leader.
• Dress product to standard or stop the line and inform Line Leader if unable.

What we are looking for:

Motivated Production Operatives to join our busy dayshift in our packhouse.

Working hours: 06:45am - 6:30pm on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern

The Position:

• Pack onions and other products as guided by your Line Leaders/ Team Leaders.
• Ensure all packaging is checked and is not damaged (i.e. split seals, damaged net etc)
• Ensure the produce is packed correctly and of the expected quality, removing any defective items from the line
• Moving product which involves lifting up to 17kg, carrying, pushing and pulling trays/product
• Ensure the packaging trays are clean and not broken, and that your work area is clean and tidy.
• Ensure that both hand and automatic clippers are operated in a safe manner and any issues are reported immediately
• Product dressing - if you are unable to dress the product to the required standard, stop the line and inform your Line Leader

The perfect candidate should have:

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
• Thorough with strong attention to detail
• Flexible and open to change situations.
• Good coordination and dexterity.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
