Job summary

Taiko is seeking a Machine Minder to ensure the safe and efficient running of food manufacturing machinery. You will work with production operatives, engineers, and the quality team to set up and operate equipment to the highest standards, supporting consistent product quality and output.

The role requires a mechanical engineering qualification, experience with machinery in food manufacturing, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, chilled environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical engineering qualification.
• Experience operating machinery in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment preferred.
• Flexible, reliable, and a team player.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, chilled environment.
• Strong awareness of food hygiene and health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain food production machinery during your shift.
• Carry out basic machine setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
• Complete pre-start checks and routine line changeovers.
• Report any mechanical faults to the engineering team.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
• Keep accurate production and machine downtime records.
• Adhere to food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Support a clean-as-you-go culture and work collaboratively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:
