Job summary

Taiko, a leading UK sushi and prepared meals manufacturer, is seeking a Hygiene Shift Manager to lead hygiene operations in a fast-paced facility. You will drive hygiene standards, train and develop the shift team, coordinate with engineering and production, and ensure readiness for customer audits.

This role offers 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (days and nights) and a path to grow through apprenticeship programs, with discretionary bonus and extensive wellbeing benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the shift hygiene team to ensure all cleaning schedules are completed effectively.
  • Driving continuous improvement of hygiene standards, procedures and practices in line with legislation, customer requirements and industry best practice.
  • Supporting engineering teams during planned preventative maintenance and assisting production teams with line start-up following deep cleans.
  • Delivering training and developing team capability to maximise flexibility and performance.
  • Working closely with chemical and equipment suppliers to optimise cleaning processes and drive innovation.
  • Building strong relationships with Production, Engineering, Quality and NPD teams to ensure effective communication and operational excellence.
  • Responding to audit findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Preparing and presenting hygiene documentation, including training records and chemical data sheets, during customer audits and visits.
  • Supporting announced and unannounced customer audits and ensuring the team is fully prepared.
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Creating a positive, engaging and high-performing team culture
  • Must be able to work 4 on, 4 off (days and nights)

Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a passionate and experienced Hygiene Shift Manager to lead our hygiene operations and help maintain the highest standards across our manufacturing facility.

You’ll be a proactive leader with a passion for food safety, hygiene excellence and developing people. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understand the importance of maintaining exceptional standards while building strong relationships across teams.

What You’ll Be Doing:
