Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry is hiring a Machine Minder to join our Doncaster-based production team. The role involves operating and maintaining production machinery, performing pre-start checks, and ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met on a daily basis.

You will monitor schedules, coordinate with the supervisor for breaks, and work with the engineering team on fault diagnosis and problem solving. Overtime and shifts may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-start checks in line with H&S, food safety and quality requirements.
• Monitor production schedules and implement machine changes promptly.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor for breaks and changeovers to maximise output.
• Monitor outputs, perform routine checks and report issues to the Line Manager.
• Assist with fault diagnosis and problem solving alongside the Engineering team.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to the Engineering Department.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment.
• Conduct line cleaning to required specifications and handover at shift end.
• Train new team members when competent and assist with other plant and equipment as needed.

Machine Minder

Location: Coulman Road, Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Salary: £13.60 per hour (Weekly paid, one hour for lunch unpaid)

Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday - overtime available various shifts.

Duties

• Complete pre-start checks in line with H&S, food safety, SKU and quality requirements prior to commencing production.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure changes to the machine are made promptly.
• Liaising with the Production Supervisor / Line Leader for breaks and changeovers to maximise equipment.
• Monitor outputs, maintain routine checks and report to Line Manager any issues arising.
• Conduct alongside Engineering team Fault diagnosis and problem solving.
• Reporting promptly any maintenance issues to the Engineering Department.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment.
• Conduct line cleaning to required specifications.
• Conduct a thorough handover during shift finish.
• Train other/new team members when required, (upon achieving the relevant competency).
• Learn other plant and equipment when requested.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures without exception.
