Job summary

Gap Personnel is recruiting a Machine Minder Operative for our well-established client at Trafford Park, M17. The role involves setting up machines, controlling speeds, feeding materials, inspecting parts and fixing issues during each shift.

Shifts are 12 hours per day in a 4 on 4 off pattern. Training pay is £12.71 for up to four weeks, rising to £13.50–£14.65 per hour once trained and signed off to work independently.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience (preferable).
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to work and safety.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle.
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
• Test operation of machines periodically.
• Fix issues that occur during the shift.
• Check output for defects or mistakes.
• Keep records of approved and defective units.
• Maintain activity logs.
• Quality inspection.
