Job summary

Bench IT in Warrington is seeking an experienced M365 Architect to join a large organisation, starting as soon as possible and working full time in Warrington for an initial 6‑month period. The role sits inside IR35 and acts as a bridge between high‑level architectural strategy and practical delivery, collaborating with the Enterprise Architect and Security Architect.

Qualifications

Experience turning notes into high‑level designs and technical docs.
Strong knowledge of Azure, M365 and security baselines.
Excellent written communication skills for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Capture whiteboard sessions and convert into design docs, ADRs and TDs.
Produce diagrams and system maps in Visio or Miro.
Maintain an organised architectural documentation repository in SharePoint.
Review concepts to identify gaps, assumptions, or governance issues.
Flag risks, non‑functional requirements and dependencies early.
Validate technical detail with Security, Infra, DevOps and Data teams.
Ensure documents meet EA standards and security baselines.
Lead document reviews with engineers, PMs, transition managers and stakeholders.
Translate complex architecture for non‑technical audiences.
