Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking an M&E Shift Engineer in Watford. The role covers routine PPM tasks, planned maintenance, and reactive repairs at a Vodafone fixed line site, within a 4 on/4 off rotating day/night schedule.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in a similar role, with electrical apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualifications, and solid knowledge of M&E equipment in critical environments. Health & safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role in a commercial environment.
• Electrical apprenticeship and/or City & Guilds qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of M&E equipment in modern critical environments.
• Experience in critical environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine PPM tasks and planned maintenance on schedule.
• Carry out reactive repairs across the site.
• Develop operational strategies to ensure compliance for critical Vodafone sites (M&E, maintenance, soft services).
• Adhere to health and safety standards and complete documentation for tasks.
• Assist with general building maintenance and coordinate with mobile engineers.

ROLE: M&E Shift Engineer

HOURS: 4 on, 4 off rotation – Days (7am–7pm) and Nights (7pm–7am)

LOCATION: Watford

Role Responsibilities

• Undertake routine PPM tasks and planned maintenance in line with scheduled dates


• Carry out reactive repairs as required across the site.


• Develop operational strategies and implementation processes to ensure compliance and success of critical services associated with Vodafone fixed line sites, covering M&E, general maintenance and soft services.


• Work to high levels of health and safety and statutory requirements, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly for all tasks.


• Assist with general building maintenance activities and work closely with supporting mobile engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role in a commercial environment.


• Ideally have completed an electrical apprenticeship and/or hold City & Guilds qualifications in Electrical Engineering.


• Sound technical knowledge with understanding of all M&E equipment in modern critical environments, including DC electrical systems.


• Experience in critical environments is desirable.
