Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is recruiting an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role based at our London Bridge office. You will take full commercial responsibility for M&E packages from tender through to final account, working closely with project managers and site teams.

The ideal candidate will have substantial M&E contracting experience, strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, and proven cost reporting, CVRs and forecasting skills.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E or building services contractor.
• Experience running packages under JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Strong cost reporting, CVRs and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial lead on M&E packages from pre-contract through to final account.
• Measure and value mechanical and electrical works; prepare interim payments.
• Procure subcontract packages; tender enquiries, bid analysis and orders.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments.
• Identify, price and agree variations; manage change control.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and CVRs for senior management.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial/contractual risk.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.

Location: London Bridge Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 + package Job type: Permanent, full time

The company Our client is a well-established MEP contractor based in London Bridge, with a strong reputation for delivering mechanical and electrical packages on commercial projects across London.

Due to a healthy order book, they are looking to add an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.

The role You will take full commercial responsibility for M&E packages from tender through to final account, working closely with project managers, estimators and site teams, and reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Take commercial lead on M&E packages from pre-contract through to final account
• Measure and value mechanical and electrical works, and prepare interim applications for payment
• Procure subcontract packages, including tender enquiries, bid analysis and subcontract orders
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments
• Identify, price and agree variations, and manage change control
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and cost value reconciliations (CVRs) for senior management
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team

About you

• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E or building services contractor
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical services
• Experience running packages under JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
• A track record of managing accounts through to final account
• Confident with cost reporting, CVRs and forecasting
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related subject is
• Experience on commercial, fit-out or resi and similar London projects is an advantage
