Job summary

Linea Recruitment Ltd in London Bridge is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for M&E packages from tender through to final account. You will work closely with project managers, estimators and site teams, reporting to the Commercial Manager, measuring and valuing works, and preparing interim applications and CVRs.

A strong background in M&E contracting, cost reporting and subcontract management is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor within M&E or building services.
• Experience leading packages under JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Strong ability to manage cost reporting, CVRs and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial lead on M&E packages from pre-contract to final account.
• Measure and value mechanical and electrical works, and prepare interim payment applications.
• Procure subcontract packages, including tender enquiries, bid analysis and subcontract orders.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments.
• Identify, price and agree variations, and manage change control.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and CVRs for senior management.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.

The company

Our client is a well-established MEP contractor based in London Bridge, with a strong reputation for delivering mechanical and electrical packages on commercial projects across London. Due to a healthy order book, they are looking to add an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.

The role

You will take full commercial responsibility for M&E packages from tender through to final account, working closely with project managers, estimators and site teams, and reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Take commercial lead on M&E packages from pre-contract through to final account
• Measure and value mechanical and electrical works, and prepare interim applications for payment
• Procure subcontract packages, including tender enquiries, bid analysis and subcontract orders
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments
• Identify, price and agree variations, and manage change control
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and cost value reconciliations (CVRs) for senior management
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team

About you

• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor with an M&E or building services contractor
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical services
• Experience running packages under JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
• A track record of managing accounts through to final account
• Confident with cost reporting, CVRs and forecasting
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related subject is preferred
• Experience on commercial, fit-out or resi and similar London projects is an advantage
