Job summary

AVK-SEG currently seeks a qualified Quantity Surveyor to support our project team in the commercial side of our M&E contracting business. You will work across client and subcontractor interfaces to optimise cash flow, terms and final accounts, and protect project profitability.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ experience in mechanical or electrical projects, solid knowledge of contract terms, risk management, and strong communication with stakeholders at all levels. PMP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience managing mechanical engineering projects, preferably in the energy or power industry.
• Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve contract terms and manage commercial correspondence with legal counsel where required.
• Attend site meetings for contractual discussions and advise on the project issues.
• Valuing variations and monitoring project performance
• Interpret project documentation to identify opportunities and risks.
• Prepare monthly reports including JCR's (Job Costing Reports) and place orders in timely manner for procurement.
• Demonstrate expertise in dispute resolution and risk management
• Assist in improving supply chain on conducting commercial audits
• Produce cash flows and ensure correct notices are issued as per contracts in place.
• Collaborate with Project Managers/Engineers and place supplier/subcontractor orders
• Prepare and submit client applications and reconcile reports
• Perform other assigned duties
