M&E Project Engineer - Water Infrastructure

Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineer to support the United Utilities Water Framework team in the North West.

You will coordinate design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover for M&E works across water assets, liaising with project and site teams to ensure safe, right-first-time delivery. You’ll manage RAMS, permits and test protocols, review technical submissions, and support procurement while maintaining schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical works on capital projects, ideally in water/utilities/infrastructure.
• Ability to read and coordinate technical drawings, specifications and P&IDs.
• Proactive, well-organised and safety-conscious with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate mechanical and electrical work packages (pumps, valves, pipework, MCCs, LV, drives, instrumentation, control).
• Review design information, specs, drawings and submissions for compliance and alignment.
• Support procurement and package management with designers and subcontractors to resolve technical queries.
• Produce and coordinate RAMS, permits, inspection and test plans, commissioning packs and handover records.
• Monitor installation progress, quality, safety and interfaces; assist testing and commissioning.
