Job summary

CSS People in the United Kingdom is seeking a LV Switch Panel Wireman to assemble, wire and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with drawings and specifications.

You will read technical drawings, build panels and looms, use hand and power tools, and perform insulation and functional tests while maintaining records and following health and safety procedures on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with hand and power tools for assembling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Build and test electrical panels and MCCB boards.
• Assemble looms and kits for distribution panels.
• Read technical drawings to produce specified parts.
• Use cable crimp tools and other hand/power tools.
• Conduct insulation and functional tests on assemblies.
• Maintain manufacturing records and follow safety procedures.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by supervision.

Working Hours

• Monday - Thursday, 7:25am- 4:30pm
• Friday, 7:30am - 1:10pm

The LV Switch Panel Wireman is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, and testing of distribution boards, MCCB panel boards, and associated equipment in line with technical drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards, ensuring high quality, safety, and efficiency.

Duties To Include

These duties will include to manufacture and test electrical panels, as well as other types of electrical equipment.

There will be further duties to ensure that you will be reading from technical drawings to produce these parts of equipment.

• Building and test distribution a variety of panels
• Building and assembling a variety of looms kits
• Using cable crimp hand tools and other tools
• Electrical testing, making sure that they insulated well and checking for functional checks
• Maintaining manufacturing records
• Any other reasonable duties from supervision
• Following all health & safety procedures whilst working with equipment and colleagues

Requirements

• Previous experience desired in a electrical manufacturing background
• Experience in using hand and power tools to build and assemble equipment
• Own transport required due to location and shift times, public transport not available

Desirable

• Knowledge of electrical regulations (18th edition desirable)
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Computer literate
• LV panel testing experience

Pay Rate

£13.31 per hour
