Job summary

Tec Partners Recruitment Ltd is seeking an LV Electrical Assembly Technician to join a busy Essex workshop in Braintree. The role focuses on assembling, wiring and testing low-voltage distribution equipment, including three-phase 400VAC systems.

The ideal candidate has a background in electrical panel building or switchgear assembly, and enjoys practical, hands-on engineering work. An apprenticeship or NVQ in electrical field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience building and wiring electrical panels or distribution equipment.
• Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems and components.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics with confidence.
• Experience with cable preparation, crimping and termination.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical testing and safe working procedures.
• An electrical apprenticeship, NVQ or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire LV distribution equipment and three-phase 400VAC systems.
• Install and connect switchgear, circuit breakers, busbars and terminals.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and assembly drawings.
• Prepare, route and terminate cables to high standards.
• Perform electrical inspections, continuity tests and insulation resistance tests.
• Identify wiring faults and opportunities to improve build quality.

LV Electrical Assembly Technician

Location: Braintree, Essex

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're looking for an experienced LV Electrical Assembly Technician to join a well-established electrical manufacturing business based in Braintree.

Working within a busy manufacturing workshop, you'll be responsible for assembling, wiring and testing low-voltage electrical distribution equipment, including both standard and custom-built units.

This role would suit someone with a background in electrical panel building, switchgear assembly or industrial electrical wiring who enjoys practical, hands-on engineering work.

The Role

• Assemble and wire low-voltage electrical distribution equipment, including three-phase 400VAC systems.


• Install and connect switchgear, circuit breakers, busbars, terminals and other electrical components.


• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings.


• Prepare, route and terminate cables to a high standard.


• Carry out electrical inspections, continuity checks and insulation resistance testing.


• Identify wiring faults, assembly issues and opportunities to improve build quality.

What You'll Need

• Proven experience building and wiring electrical panels or distribution equipment.


• Good understanding of low-voltage electrical systems and components.


• Confident reading electrical drawings and schematics.


• Experience with cable preparation, crimping, termination and electrical assembly.


• Practical knowledge of electrical testing and safe working procedures.
