Job summary

Zero Surplus is recruiting an Electrical Assembly Technician for our Basildon site. The role focuses on building and wiring complex control boards and assemblies from detailed technical documentation.

You will carry out point-to-point wiring, route and terminate cables, and ensure neat cable management while adhering to drawings and quality standards. A strong background in electrical assembly and good manual dexterity are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or similar manufacturing roles.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Experience working with electrical components and control systems.
• Good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble control boards and enclosures using a variety of components.
• Carry out point-to-point wiring, including preparation, routing, and termination of cables.
• Ensure high standards of cable management and overall presentation.
• Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
• Inspect and test assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Use a range of hand and power tools safely.

Location: Basildon, Essex (on-site) Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Hours: 39 hours per week, flexible start between 7:00am - 9:00am (early finish on Fridays)
