Job summary

Zero Surplus in Basildon, Essex is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join a growing production team. You will build and wire complex control boards and assemblies from detailed technical drawings, ensuring accurate terminations and high presentation standards.

This on-site role is 39 hours per week with a flexible start between 7:00 and 9:00 and an early finish on Fridays. A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship and a commitment to quality workmanship are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or similar manufacturing roles.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Experience working with electrical components and control systems.
• Good manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Assemble control boards and enclosures using a variety of components.
• Carry out point-to-point wiring, including preparation, routing, and termination of cables.
• Ensure high standards of cable management and overall presentation.
• Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
• Inspect and test assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Use a range of hand and power tools safely.
