Job summary

Hastings Hotels, a family-owned luxury hotel group in Northern Ireland, invites applications for a Sous Chef at Ballygally Castle. You will support the Head Chef, oversee kitchen operations, and ensure food quality and guest satisfaction.

This full-time role involves 45 hours per week with 11am–11pm or 2pm–10pm shifts, a salary of £33,910 per year, and benefits including staff meals, discounts, 29 days holidays (including your birthday) and clear career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Food Preparation and Cooking and a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
• Experience at a similar level in a high quality catering operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the smooth operation of the Kitchens and maintain the hotel’s reputation for food quality.
• Plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standard required by the hotel and its guests.
• Help manage the culinary budget and kitchen expenditure.
• Ensure stock control and ordering complies with policies.
• Maintain 5* hygiene standards and safety compliance.
• Train and develop kitchen staff and deliver feedback for continuous improvement.
