Job summary

Hastings Hotels, a luxury family-owned hotel group in Northern Ireland, is seeking an Executive Sous Chef for the Grand Central Hotel in Belfast. You will support the Executive Head Chef and lead a high-performing kitchen team to uphold Hastings’ food standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in Food Preparation and Cooking.
• Current Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
• Previous experience at a similar level in a quality catering operation.
• GCSEs in English and Maths preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of the Kitchen to maintain Hastings standards.
• Ensure planning, preparation, cooking and presentation meet hotel standards.
• Contribute to development of the hotel’s business plan and initiatives.
• Help manage culinary budget and kitchen expenditure.
• Ensure stock management and ordering complies with policy.
• Maintain compliance with food hygiene regulations and 5* hygiene score.
• Ensure kitchen areas and equipment are maintained to Hastings’ standard.
• Provide training and development to kitchen staff.
• Hold regular team meetings and communicate targets and company information.
• Carry out other duties as required.
