Job summary

Chewton Glen is a luxury country hotel seeking a Receptionist with a passion for personalised guest service. You will handle reception, cashiering and reservations, ensuring smooth daily operations and high guest satisfaction.

Experience in a 4*/5* hotel and familiarity with Opera are highly desirable. The role emphasizes accurate guest handling, a courteous attitude and a professional appearance in a prestigious environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Receptionist role within a 4* or 5* hotel is desirable.
• Experience using Opera.
• Keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and confident in communicating with the team.

Responsibilities

• Be confident and take pride in ensuring the well-being, satisfaction and comfort of all guests.
• Use guest names at every available opportunity to personalise service.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and demeanour.
• Have a good working knowledge of all hotel departments.
• Understand and operate all front-office equipment, including Opera, Paging Systems, Word and Email.
• Assist with parking arriving guests’ cars when required.
• Cover reservation tasks when needed and understand teamwork and flexibility.
• Handle restaurant reservations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager and communicate availability, prices and restrictions.
• Be well-informed about the hotel market, including accommodation and F&B services.
• Record comments and maintenance points for follow-up with integrity.
• Know and adhere to hotel and spa policies on privacy and data protection.
