Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Wigan is seeking a Teaching Assistant - Lunchtime Supervisor to supervise pupils during lunchtime, in the hall, cloakrooms and playgrounds. You will help maintain order, encourage good behaviour and support pupils in social interactions.

Experience with or caring for children is essential, and candidates should be prepared to participate in safeguarding procedures and training. The school emphasizes a warm Catholic ethos and a supportive staff team.

  • Supervise children during lunchtime in the hall, cloakrooms and playground areas.

  • Encourage good table manners and develop social skills appropriate to the age of the child.
  • Encourage and join in with playtime games and activities.
  • Report to the class teachers any accidents, incidents or misbehaviour at the end of each session.
  • Ensure a first aider is informed of any accidents, and that pupils who are injured or sick are attended to as appropriate.
  • Tidy up and wipe up spillages in the hall.
  • Participate in all training relevant to the position.
  • Be supportive of the School's ethos at all times.

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors wish to appoint a professional and committed Teaching Assistant - Lunchtime Supervisor who will supervise pupils throughout lunchtime.

The main duties of the post are as follows -
  • Supervise children during lunchtime, in the hall, cloakrooms and playground areas
  • Encourage good behaviour and manage behaviour appropriately in line with the requirements of the school behaviour policy
  • Encourage good table manners and develop social skills appropriate to the age of the child
  • Encourage and join in with playtime games and activities
  • Report to the class teachers any accidents, incidents or misbehaviour at the end of each session
  • Ensure a first aider is informed of any accidents, and that pupils who are injured or sick are attended to as appropriate
