Job summary

Mawdesley St Peter's Church Of England Primary School is seeking a part-time Lunchtime Assistant to join our team. The role runs 6.25 hours per week during term time, from 12:00pm to 1:15pm, Monday to Friday.

You will supervise children in the hall, playground, and classrooms as needed, support structured play activities, and ensure a safe, tidy environment following health and safety and first aid procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to relate and communicate well with children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience of working in a school environment or with children.
  • Desirable First Aid knowledge or training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children in the hall during lunch and clear up spillages.
  • Supervise children outside in the playground.
  • Initiate/suggest/support structured play activities.
  • Be responsible for the tidy and safe storage of equipment.
  • During wet lunchtimes, supervise the children in their classrooms; deal with accidents following health & safety and first aid procedures.

Summary The Governors wish to appoint a LunchtimeAssistant to join our happyschool and make an outstanding contribution to our team. The hours are 6.25perweek - Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridayfrom 12.00pmto 1.15pm, term time only. We are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, flexible, responsible and caring with a desire to make the pupils’ lunchtime a happy, safe and fun time. The main duties of the post are to supervise children in the hall eating their lunchand clearing up spillages; supervise children outside in the playground; initiate/suggest/support structured play activities and be responsible for the tidy and safe storage of equipment. During wet lunchtimes, you will supervise the children in their classrooms.You may also need to deal with accidents in the playground or dining area (following procedures for Health & Safety & First Aid).

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.
