Job summary

Wyvern Academy is seeking a Lunchtime / Midday Supervisory Assistant to support pupils during the busy lunchtime period. You’ll help supervise in the dining hall, encourage good hygiene and manners, and assist pupils with communication and social needs to create a safe, calm environment.

This part-time role is 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:30am–2:00pm. Starting November 2026, the position is paid at £25,614 per annum full-time equivalent, with pro-rata terms for term-time working.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to create a safe lunchtime environment.
• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and dignity at all times.
• Encourage good hygiene, polite table manners and healthy eating habits.
• Support pupils with individual needs to ensure lunchtime is a positive experience for everyone.
• Set up and clear the dining area, keeping the hall clean, tidy and welcoming.
• Clean and tidy equipment, including trays, beakers and cutlery.
• Maintain calm and organisation, even during busy moments.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure every pupil's needs are met with care and creativity.
• Bring energy, positivity and joy to lunchtime.
