Job summary

Wyvern Academy, part of the Southern Education Trust, is recruiting for a Lunchtime / Midday Supervisory Assistant. 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:30am–2:00pm, term-time only with a starting date in November 2026.

Qualifications

Experience working with children is welcome, but attitude matters most.
Ability to stay calm and patient in busy lunchtime environments.
Willingness to learn and adapt to pupils with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to create a safe lunchtimes environment.
Supervise pupils in the dining hall ensuring safety, wellbeing and dignity.
Encourage good hygiene, table manners and healthy eating habits.
Support pupils with individual needs to ensure lunchtime is positive for all.
Set up and clear the dining area; keep the hall clean and welcoming.
Clean and tidy equipment, including trays, beakers and cutlery.
Maintain calm and organisation during busy moments.
Collaborate with colleagues to meet every pupil’s needs with care.
