Job summary

St Elizabeth's College in Much Hadham is seeking a Midday Assistant to support learners aged 19–25 with complex needs during lunchtime. You will supervise, assist with meals, and promote safe, respectful, and engaging activities in a calm environment.

The role is part-time, term-time only, with full training provided. A DBS check is funded, and the college offers parking and welfare support as part of its caring, inclusive community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school or care setting is helpful but not essential.
• Full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise learners during lunchtime in the dining hall, classrooms, and outdoor areas.
• Support with mealtime routines, including assisting learners with eating where required.
• Promote good table manners, safe play, and respectful interactions.
• Encourage engagement in inclusive, age-appropriate leisure activities.
• Help manage behaviours calmly and appropriately, following student care plans.
• Assist with setting up and tidying dining areas before and after service.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all pupils during break times.
