Job summary

Honley High School is seeking a caring Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly team. You will supervise students in the dining hall and around the site, encouraging positive behaviour and helping create a safe, welcoming lunchtime experience.

You will work as part of a supportive school community with DBS checks and safeguarding in place. This role supports our students during break times and contributes to a calm, inclusive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the dining hall and around the site during lunchtime.
• Promote positive behaviour and ensure students feel safe, supported and included.
• Encourage respectful interactions and help maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist with queries and minor issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Monitor student welfare and report safeguarding or behaviour concerns.

We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly school community. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important part in creating a safe, positive and welcoming environment for our students.

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will help ensure that students enjoy a safe and pleasant lunchtime experience. You will supervise students in the dining hall, around the school site and outdoor areas, encouraging positive behaviour and supporting students to make the most of their break times. You will also help maintain a clean and tidy environment both inside and out through light duties such as clearing tables and litter picking across the school grounds.

What the role involves in a nutshell

• Supervising students in the dining hall, cafe, pod, corridors and outdoor areas during lunchtime.
• Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring students feel safe, supported and included.
• Encouraging respectful interactions and helping to maintain a calm and enjoyable atmosphere.
• Supporting students with queries and minor issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Monitoring student welfare and reporting any safeguarding or behaviour concerns.
• Helping to keep the school environment clean, tidy and welcoming.
• Working as part of a supportive team to ensure smooth and effective lunchtime supervision.
• Acting as a positive role model for our students at all times.
