Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Prepare dining areas before lunch service, including cleaning tables and sweeping floors.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment throughout the lunch period.
  • Clear trays, plates and cutlery and assist with dishwasher duties.
  • Manage waste disposal and ensure bins are ready for service.
  • Clean chairs and windowsills following lunch service.
  • Keep outdoor patio areas free from litter.
  • Ensure pupils follow health and safety expectations, including safe queuing and appropriate use of school facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the smooth running of lunchtime provision.

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and caring Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to contribute to a positive and safe school environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring they can enjoy their break safely and comfortably while maintaining high standards of behaviour and wellbeing across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising pupils during lunchtime and encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Preparing dining areas before lunch service, including cleaning tables and sweeping floors.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment throughout the lunch period.
  • Clearing trays, plates and cutlery and assisting with dishwasher duties.
  • Managing waste disposal and ensuring bins are ready for service.
