Job summary

The Arthur Terry School is seeking enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisors to supervise students during lunchtime, ensuring safety, positive behaviour and wellbeing in dining, play and social areas. This part-time role offers a supportive team and opportunities for professional development.

You will join a welcoming environment, work 11.25 hours per week over 5 days, and contribute to maintaining a calm, inclusive lunchtime for all pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during lunchtime in dining, playground and social areas.

  • Build positive and respectful relationships with students.
  • Respond to student needs or concerns and report to staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth lunchtime arrangements.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students.

Job description

Your Role

The Arthur Terry School is seeking to appoint enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable Lunchtime Supervisors to join our supportive and welcoming team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is committed to helping create a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime environment. The role is 11.25 hours per week, working over 5 days. The successful candidates will play an important role in supervising students, promoting positive behaviour and supporting their wellbeing during the school day.

Key responsibilities
  1. Supervising students during lunchtime, including in designated dining, playground and social areas.
  2. Ensuring students are safe and well cared for throughout the lunchtime period.
  3. Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to follow the school's expectations.
  4. Building positive and respectful relationships with students.
  5. Responding appropriately to student needs, concerns or incidents and reporting these to relevant staff where necessary.
  6. Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth and effective running of lunchtime arrangements.
  7. Contributing to a welcoming, inclusive and positive environment for all students.
