Job summary

Queen Margaret Primary Academy is seeking a friendly Lunchtime Supervisor to support pupils during lunch and playtime, promoting safe behaviour, healthy eating and a calm, enjoyable environment during the school day.

The role is fixed-term until 31 August 2027, part-time, term-time only, 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a November 2026 start. No formal prior experience required, but an enthusiastic attitude to working with children is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, in particular demonstrates empathy and active listening.
  • The ability to deal with inappropriate behaviour in a calm and non-judgemental way, following academy guidance.

  • Positive values and attitudes in order to be a role model to our students.

Job description

Job Title: Lunchtime Supervisor

Actual Annual Salary: £2,932 - £2,982 (£13.45 - £13.68 per hour)

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,949 - £26,392 (Grade Aii) Based on full time hours, all year round.

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31/08/2027, Part Time, Term time only.

Hours: 5 hours per week

Additional role info: Monday to Friday

Provisional Start Date: November 2026
