Job summary

Haywood Village Academy in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to support pupils during the lunch break, promote good behaviour, encourage healthy eating and keep the playground safe and welcoming.

This part-time, term-time role offers flexible hours (1.5 hours per week for one post or 7.5 hours per week for two posts) with provisional start date 02 November 2026. We value friendly, reliable candidates who work well with children and staff.

Qualifications

  • Good relationship-building with students and staff.
  • Ability to manage inappropriate behaviour calmly following academy guidance.
  • Patient, calm, and able to work under pressure.
  • Positive values and attitudes to be a role model for pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils during lunch breaks and monitor safe play.

Job Title: Lunchtime Supervisor

Actual Annual Salary:

£879 - £894, based on 1.5 working hours p/w and working weeks

£4,398 - £4,473, based on 7.5 working hours p/w and working weeks

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £25,949 - £26,392 (Grade Aii), based on full time hours, all year round

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Term time only

Hours: 1 x role: 1.5 hours per week, 2 x roles: 7.5 hours per week

Provisional Start Date: 02 November 2026

About you:

You will have:

  • good relationship-building skills and able to proactively engage with students and other staff members.
  • strong interpersonal skills, in particular demonstrates empathy and active listening.
  • the ability to deal with inappropriate behaviour in a calm and non-judgemental way, following academy guidance.
  • patience, be calm and be able to work under pressure
  • positive values and attitudes in order to be a role model to our students.
