Job summary

Larkmead School in Abingdon, England is seeking a Lunchtime Assistant to support pupils' social and personal needs during lunch breaks, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all pupils.

This term-time role runs 38 weeks, Monday to Friday, 12:30–2:30pm, with a commitment of 5 to 10 hours each week. The successful candidate will help supervise pupils, assist with First Aid, and uphold safeguarding practices in line with school policies.

Job description

Larkmead school is seeking to recruit a Lunchtime Assistant to provide support for the social and personal needs of pupils, ensuring that they have a safe and healthy environment during lunchtime break periods at school. This is a term time only position 38 weeks of the year, 5 days per week, for a minimum of 5 hours up to a maximum of 10 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 12:30 - 2:30pm. You will also be required to attend annual safeguarding training during one of our September inset days.

About this Role

You will support pupils:

• To establish and maintain effective relationships with pupils, monitor and support them during lunch break activities
• To develop and maintain working relationships with other school staff
• To contribute to the management of pupil behaviour and security in line with school policies
• Assist with the management of communal areas, picking up litter and emptying bins
• To follow wet lunchtime procedures
• To administer basic First Aid in the play areas where necessary and refer/report to designated members of staff
