Job summary

TeacherActive is actively recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor for a SEND school in Birmingham. The role involves supporting pupils aged 4-18 with SLD, autism and complex needs during the lunchtime period, ensuring safety and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a school or care setting, a good understanding of safeguarding, and a patient, reliable approach. The position is 1.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, paid £14-£15 per hour.

• Maintain a calm and inclusive lunchtime environment.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school based in South Birmingham, supporting children and young people aged 4 - 18 with SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, autism and complex needs. The school provides a supportive environment focused on meeting the individual needs of every pupil.

The school is looking to take on a Lunchtime Supervisor on a long-term basis, working 1.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will support pupils throughout the lunchtime period, helping with supervision, promoting their safety and wellbeing, and providing appropriate support to children with SLD, autism and complex needs.

The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SLD, autism and/or complex needs
• Experience working within a school, SEND or care environment
• A good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• A patient and caring approach
• Confidence supporting children with a range of additional needs
• A reliable and adaptable attitude
