Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor in Birmingham to support pupils during lunch breaks. The role is long-term, with an immediate start and 1.5 hours per day Monday to Friday, paying £14-£15 per hour.

The successful candidate will have experience with SEND, SLD, autism or complex needs, safeguarding knowledge and a patient, adaptable approach to supervision and welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SLD, autism and/or complex needs.
• Experience working within a school, SEND or care environment.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• A patient and caring approach.
• Confidence supporting children with a range of additional needs.
• A reliable and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils throughout the lunchtime period, helping with supervision, promoting their safety and wellbeing.
• Provide appropriate support to children with SLD, autism and complex needs.

Are you looking for a Lunchtime Supervisor role where you can make a positive difference to children and young people?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school based in South Birmingham, supporting children and young people aged 4 - 18 with SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, autism and complex needs. The school provides a supportive environment focused on meeting the individual needs of every pupil.

The school is looking to take on a Lunchtime Supervisor on a long-term basis, working 1.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will support pupils throughout the lunchtime period, helping with supervision, promoting their safety and wellbeing, and providing appropriate support to children with SLD, autism and complex needs.

The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SLD, autism and/or complex needs
• Experience working within a school, SEND or care environment
• A good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• A patient and caring approach
• Confidence supporting children with a range of additional needs
• A reliable and adaptable attitude
