Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Lunchtime Supervisor for a SEND primary school in Selly Oak. The role involves monitoring children during lunch breaks, assisting with eating and personal care where required, supervising play, and supporting positive behaviour under the guidance of teachers.

You should have experience with children, ideally in SEND or primary settings, strong communication, vigilance for safety, and the ability to work as part of a school team.

Salary: £12.50 - £14.00 per hour

Are you a caring and vigilant Lunchtime Supervisor who can ensure children feel safe and supported throughout the school day?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a primary SEND school in Selly Oak that is looking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor. The school provides a supportive environment for children with additional needs, with a strong focus on safety, welfare, positive behaviour and encouraging appropriate social interactions.

The school is looking to take on a Lunchtime Supervisor on a full-time, long-term basis from September, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will monitor children during lunch breaks, support with eating and personal care where required, supervise play, maintain positive behaviour, respond to incidents appropriately and work closely with teachers and other school staff.

The successful Lunchtime Supervisor will have:

• Experience working with children, ideally within a SEND or primary school setting
• Experience supporting children with additional needs
• A positive and caring approach with strong communication skills
• The ability to maintain vigilance and ensure the safety and welfare of children
• Confidence managing behaviour and encouraging good manners and positive social interactions
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
