A regional health board in Scotland is seeking an experienced Lead Physiotherapist to manage and lead physiotherapy services for mental health and learning disabilities. The role requires significant experience, leadership skills, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include planning and delivering physiotherapy services across diverse settings, with a focus on team development and high-quality patient care.
NHS Grampian – Lead Physiotherapist for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Health Services (MHLDS). Grade: Band 8A. Hours of work: 18.5 (18) hours/week. Permanent position.
This position is available for an experienced Physiotherapist to lead the physiotherapy services in Mental Health & Learning Disabilities. The post involves leadership, strategic and operational management and professional development of physiotherapy staff in Royal Cornhill Hospital, and professional leadership of physiotherapy teams/services across Grampian.
The role includes planning, co-ordination and delivery of physiotherapy services in adult and older adult mental health, in-patient and community services in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray; rehabilitation services; in-patient and out-patient eating disorders; forensic services; and community and in-patient learning disability services, with a focus on supporting staff who are highly experienced, innovative, flexible and supportive.
The post holder will work alongside other Allied Health Professional and Physiotherapy Leads, including Dietetics, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy as part of the AHP Leadership team for the MHLDS and will be accountable to the Allied Health Professional Lead. The successful candidate will also work closely with a wide range of other professionals from health and other agencies.
