Job summary

Graphcore is offering a Software Engineering Summer Intern position in Drivers and Utilities for a 12-week program in Bristol. You will work on low-level driver software, kernel and user-space development, and CI/testing tasks.

You will be mentored by engineers across hardware and software stacks, with opportunities to contribute to the codebase and learn about AI accelerator software. Eligible candidates are pursuing a degree in CS or related fields with C/C++, Python, and Git experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Maths, Machine Learning, Data Science or related field.
• Experience with low-level software, embedded code or device drivers; basic programming in C/C++ or Python.
• Basic electronics knowledge, including reading schematics and datasheets.
• Familiarity with CI systems (Jenkins) and using Git to manage code, PRs and branches.

Responsibilities

• Write code for drivers and utilities within Graphcore’s software stack.
• Add unit tests and manually test changes; maintain CI pipelines.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve driver software performance.
• Contribute to code reviews and learn from engineers across the team.
