Job summary

A leading Highways Electrical contractor is looking for a Lorry Driver/Class 2 Driver (HIAB) based in Swindon. This full-time role involves installing and maintaining street lighting and ensures excellent service delivery. Candidates must possess an HGV Class 2 Licence and an electrical background is preferred. Job Title: Lorry Driver/Class 2 Driver (HIAB)

Base Location: Swindon

Salary: From £25,684 to £27,011.52 depending on skills and experience and working hours - Time Incentive Management (TIM) Bonus Scheme, plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday – Friday 8am-4pm. Overtime available for those who want it.

What will I be doing in this role?
  • Installing and maintaining street lighting apparatus and furniture, including street lights, signposts and signs.
  • Ensuring we deliver outstanding service to our clients and the general public.
  • Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
  • An electrical background would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weathers.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and an HGV Class 2 Licence.
  • Completed ALLMI course (Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers).
Some of our 'nice to haves' are:
  • IPAF/PASMA working at heights training.
  • Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety in planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture training course.

We can, however, support the right candidate to achieve any level of industry training or qualifications they may not have in the ‘nice to have’ list.
