Job summary

Enerveo in London is seeking a Highways Lighting Operative (With HGV2) to join our frontline crew. You will drive a Class 2 HGV, operate a HIAB crane and support the installation of street lighting columns across the contract area.

The role is 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm) with overtime and an on-call rota. You must live within the Ealing Borough or nearby due to quick response requirements and be committed to health and safety on site.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 HGV to transport lighting columns and equipment across the contract area.
• Operate the HIAB crane to unload and position lighting columns.
• Work with Jointers and Electricians to replace columns and install equipment.
• Assist with excavation and reinstatement during installation.
• Participate actively in delivering highway infrastructure projects on site.

Job Title: Highways Lighting Operative (With HGV2)

Base Location: Ealing Depot- London (UB4)

Salary: Up to £31,459 depending on skills and experience and working hours - Time Incentive Management (TIM) Bonus Scheme, plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (37 hours per week). In addition to your salary, you'll have the opportunity to earn extra through regular overtime and participation in a 1-in-3 on-call rota, which includes standby and call-out payments.

What will I be doing in this role?

As part of this role, you'll drive a Class 2 HGV to transport street lighting columns, materials and equipment to sites across the contract area. Using the vehicle-mounted HIAB crane, you'll safely lift and position lighting columns ready for installation, working closely with experienced Jointers and Electricians. Once on site, you'll get stuck in with excavation, column replacement and other hands-on activities, making you an integral part of the team from start to finish.

Typical duties include:

• Drive a Class 2 HGV to transport street lighting columns, materials and equipment to sites across the contract area.
• Operate the vehicle-mounted HIAB crane to safely unload, lift and position street lighting columns for installation.
• Work alongside experienced Jointers and Electricians to remove and replace street lighting columns.
• Assist with excavation, reinstatement and other hands-on tasks throughout the installation process.
• Play a key role in delivering essential highway infrastructure while developing your skills across a range of highways electrical activities.This is a genuinely hands-on role, so you'll need to be happy carrying out excavation, lifting, and manual work as part of the team-not just driving between sites.

What do I need to be successful in the role?

• HGV Class 2 licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety, following all site rules and procedures.
• Happy to undertake manual work, including excavation and assisting with installations.
• Able to participate in the on-call rota.
• Must live within the Ealing Borough or surrounding area due to the one-hour emergency response requirement.

• IPAF and/or PASMA (Working at Height).
• HIAB/Lorry Loader Operator qualification.
• ALLMI accreditation.
• NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) qualification.
• G39 Electrical Safety Awareness.
• CSCS Card.
• Previous highways, street lighting or construction experience.
