Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant in South Bristol, starting October 2026, with 1:1 support for students aged 11-16 with SEMH/ADHD. Long-term role with potential permanency for the right candidate. Competitive hourly rate and dedicated onboarding support.

The role focuses on building trust, managing challenging behaviour positively and helping students gain confidence and independence within a therapeutic school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH or ADHD in specialist setting.
• Experience with challenging behaviour management in 1:1 context is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for students with SEMH and ADHD.
• Use creative, engaging approaches to promote learning.
• Support positive behaviour and promote independence throughout the day.
