Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND school in Bristol to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term role starting September 2026 with potential permanency. The role focuses on providing 1:1 support for students with SEMH, EBD and ADHD, encouraging engagement and positive behaviour throughout the day.

The successful candidate will have experience in SEND environments, be creative and motivated, and hold an Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour.
• Experience in SEND schools, PRUs, or youth work settings is preferred.
• Creative and engaging approach to supporting students with additional needs.
• Excellent communication, patient and resilient attitude, with commitment to a long-term role.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for students with SEMH, EBD and ADHD.
• Help promote engagement in learning and positive behavior management.
• Support students to reach their full potential throughout the school day.
