Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Bristol. The role involves providing 1:1 support to students aged 11–16 with SEMH, EBD and ADHD in a structured, nurturing setting.

A long-term position with potential for permanent employment is available, starting October 2026. You will assist with engaging learning activities, managing challenging behaviours positively, and building confidence and resilience over the school day.

Qualifications

• 6 months' experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour.
• Experience in SEND schools, PRUs, or youth work settings desired.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for students with SEMH, EBD, and ADHD.
• Promote engagement in learning and positive behaviour management.
• Develop trusting relationships to support long-term learning and personal growth.
