Job summary

Otis London is seeking a talented Major Projects Project Manager to lead large, complex new equipment major projects in the UK, mainly London, from order through design, installation and final account. You will analyse scope, plan delivery, drive design approvals, negotiate vendor packages, and ensure timely resources, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a track record in elevator/building trades.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent relevant work experience (at least 5 years)
• Experience with the elevator and building trades
• Safety is your top priority
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment
• Self-reliant, with strong computer and organizational skills and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Analyse the contract scope, identify risks, challenges and opportunities and plan accordingly.
• Develop a delivery plan and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Obtain approvals and drive the design process to meet programme requirements.
• Negotiate vendor packages to optimize price, quality and delivery.
• Ensure resources and materials are ordered and delivered on time.
• Prepare method statements, quality plans and programmes up to approval.
• Monitor progress (financial and project) and mitigate delays or claims to keep programme on track.
• Serve as customer focal point for all correspondence and meetings.
• Record significant site events and ensure contract terms are adhered to.
• Identify opportunities for project efficiencies and variations to the contract.
• Manage billing and cash coverage through the project lifespan and final account.
• Provide accurate monthly forecasts to Major Projects Operations Director.
