Job summary

Sompo in London is seeking a Performance Management Analyst to join the Underwriting Performance Management team. The role focuses on evaluating performance, developing metrics, and delivering data-driven insights for UK and London Market Insurance businesses.

You will work with stakeholders across pricing, risk, FP&A and operations to quantify actions, maintain dashboards, and ensure data quality. A degree in a mathematical or scientific field and 2–5 years in underwriting analytics or pricing

Qualifications

• First or 2.1 in a mathematical or scientific degree subject.
• 2–5 years experience in underwriting analytics, performance management or actuarial pricing/reserving/capital modelling.
• Strong IT skills in SQL, R, or Python with proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain key performance metrics and reports for underwriting profitability.
• Analyse datasets using actuarial methods to extract insights for underwriting performance management.
• Identify trends, anomalies and areas for improvement in underwriting performance.
• Quantify impact of underwriting actions on expected loss ratios.
• Develop and maintain portfolio management tools and dashboards.
• Produce reports and MI for underwriting teams and management to enable data-driven decisions.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of underwriting data and implement data quality controls.
