Job summary

Bolton Associates is seeking an actuarial analyst to join its Underwriting Performance Management team. The role supports a diverse UK and London Market insurance business, focusing on data-driven underwriting decisions.

You will analyze underwriting portfolios, develop metrics and dashboards, and apply actuarial techniques to quantify the impact of underwriting actions. Collaboration with underwriters and other teams across the business is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience in underwriting analytics, performance management or actuarial pricing, reserving or capital modelling.
• Strong technical skills in SQL, R or Python.
• A curious, detail-oriented analyst who can turn data into clear, commercially useful insights.

Global insurance business is looking for an actuarial anayst to join their Underwriting Performance Management team, supporting across a diverse UK and London Market insurance business.

What you'll be doing:

• Analysing underwriting portfolios to identify trends, performance issues and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Developing performance metrics, reports and dashboards to support data-driven underwriting decisions.
• Using actuarial techniques to assess portfolio performance and quantify the impact of potential underwriting actions.
• Working with data, developing analytical tools and improving reporting processes.

What were looking for:

• 3–5 years experience in underwriting analytics, performance management or actuarial pricing, reserving or capital modelling.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of specialty insurance classes, including Property, Energy, Marine, Aviation, Financial Lines and Cyber.

The role will suit someone who is coming from an actuarial background. You may have stopped the exams or still be studying. Ideally though you will be working in insurance.
