Job summary

Macildowie Recruitment and Retention is partnering with a Whittlesey-based manufacturing business to recruit a Logistics Planner. You will own planning of deliveries across depots, ensuring fleet capacity is used efficiently, customer expectations are met and transport costs are managed.

Working closely with drivers, transport coordinators, sales teams and hauliers, you’ll optimise schedules, resolve issues quickly and maintain strong communication to protect service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport or logistics planning.
• Knowledge of transport legislation and the Working Time Directive.
• Experience with routing/scheduling systems.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Plan customer deliveries and driver loads using electronic scheduling systems.
• Maximise fleet utilisation and delivery efficiency.
• Coordinate third-party haulage when required.
• Meet KPIs for loads per day and cost per load.
• Minimise empty running and reduce transport costs.
• Provide updates on delivery dates and issues.
