Job summary

Menzies Distribution Solutions Ltd is seeking an Operational Support Manager to lead continuous improvement and change initiatives across the business. You will develop processes, training, and governance to strengthen operational control and standardise reporting.

The role requires a proactive approach, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to drive performance improvements using best-practice methodologies.

Qualifications

• Experienced Logistics professional, graduate or with relevant qualifications.
• Strong facilitator, able to engage people and teams.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and drive for business excellence.
• To be proactive and work under own initiative to form solutions to potential problems with the ability to make decisions instantaneously.
• Previous experience of managing a budget.
• Strong negotiating and reasoning skills.
• IT Literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Strong presentation skills and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage & support an effective operational process, ensuring integrity of customer/supplier service requirements.
• Manage commercial aspects of a transport operation to meet profit and service/quality targets.
• Uphold and maintain high Health & Safety standards.
• Review/introduce core process and procedures across depots in the region.
• Identify opportunities to reduce empty running and improve efficiency.
• Establish reporting tools, committees and best-in-class standards across the business.
• Act as an improvement champion to the business, providing effective communication between stakeholders.
• Ensure improvement processes are documented to support quality programme.
• Deliver training on improvement tools and methodologies.
• Utilise management information to target improvements and evidence value.
• Establish strong relationships with Operations and Central Functions.
• Drive business improvement projects to improve costs, quality and service.
• Ensure improvements comply with health & safety legislation.
• Seek opportunities for self-development.
