Job summary

DS Smith Plc is seeking an experienced Logistics Lead to drive the UK logistics strategy across the DS Smith UK network. You will standardise processes, manage supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, service and efficiency.

You will work closely with site teams, external providers and stakeholders to embed new ways of working and deliver lasting value while maintaining strong safety practices and meeting KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics/transport/warehousing or supply chain roles.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transport planning and inventory management.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across multiple locations.
• Strong relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing supplier performance and operational KPIs.
• Proactive, solutions-focused with continuous improvement mindset.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to UK DS Smith sites.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the UK Logistics Strategy across DS Smith's UK operations.
• Drive standardisation of logistics processes and procedures.
• Implement transport planning, order management and best practices.
• Develop and maintain Transport and Warehousing SLAs.
• Embed new ways of working with site teams and stakeholders.
• Promote a strong safety culture with site teams and logistics providers.
• Ensure robust logistics safety processes across UK sites.
• Manage relationships with external logistics partners and monitor KPIs (OTIF, load optimisation).
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities across transport and warehousing.
• Collaborate with logistics, procurement and supplier partners to optimise network performance.
