Logistics Planner / Coordinator (x2 Positions)

Location: Bolton, BL5

Salary: £33,000 – £37,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 Days On / 4 Days Off

Benefits: Weekly Pay, 20 days holiday & 8 BH, 1 day extra holiday after 1 year service to a max of 5 extra days, Yearly salary review

We are seeking two proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Planners/Coordinators to support the efficient operation of our client’s supply chain activities. Based in Bolton, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless logistics coordination and first-class customer service across a 7-day operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all customer order processing and enquiries, maintaining strong daily communication.
• Schedule and manage incoming deliveries to align with network capacity and customer requirements.
• Monitor and track all loads, ensuring accurate and timely communication of load status and order details.
• Provide daily timeline reports, resolving issues as they arise and escalating when necessary.
• Manage Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Collect and compile transport service level data for quarterly customer KPI reports.
• Maintain and update the daily schedule while planning at least 2 days in advance for future requirements.
• Adapt planning to accommodate seasonal variations and optimise network efficiency.
• Coordinate driver shifts in line with working time regulations and legal compliance.
• Collaborate closely with the Fleet Manager to maximise vehicle availability and support maintenance schedules, including servicing, PMIs, and MOTs.
• Problem-solve daily operational challenges and escalate when appropriate.
• Confirm correct fleet allocation based on job type and operational demands.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in logistics planning, transport coordination, or a similar role.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of logistics or transport management systems is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of transport compliance and scheduling best practices.
