Job summary

Staffline are recruiting Logistics Controllers in Carlisle. The rate of pay is £15.50 per hour, with a full-time role on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Hours are 06:00-18:00 days and 18:00-06:00 nights, supporting a 24/7 operation.

Your duties include rostering drivers, deploying the emergency plan, planning routes, and monitoring compliance and KPI targets. Free onsite parking is provided, and the job may lead to permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role required.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining driver/core staff rosters to ensure resource capability over a 24/7 period including reactive and emergency response.
• Ensuring the numbers within the emergency response driving team are consistently maintained.
• To implement and deploy the Emergency Plan ensuring compliance with Company Procedure.
• Responsible for the allocation of ESL transport assets to individual convoys as required for all deployments.
• Planning of routes and alternative routes, site locations and establishment and assisting with contingency planning.
• Ensuring GTS and housekeeping is constantly completed, particularly depot logs are completed by specified time and reporting errors.
• Monitor and report WTD issues / concerns to Operations team.
• Liaise with Vehicle Maintainers to accurately report any Vehicle defects to the customer.
• Ensuring there is clear daily communication between day and night shifts, utilising the night shift handover document.
• Managing drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand.
• Understanding and achieving targets regarding utilisation, loaded, empty legs.
• Regularly assisting when required at drivers / debrief counter.
• To report any breaches of Health and Safety to your Line Manager immediately.
