Job description

LOGISTICS ADMINISTRATOR

Hours: 37.5 - M-F: 0800 - 1600

A quick look at the role

The Logistics Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day organisation of operations in the depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. You will ensure best-in-class service delivery to customers, maintain health & safety standards, and ensure environmental and O licence compliance.

Your Core Responsibilities
  • Manage operational staff daily to achieve best-in-class service delivery.
  • Optimize route efficiency and utilise disposal outlets within the area to ensure effective use of vehicles and facilities.
  • Manage driver availability and coverage in line with legislation and company procedures to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Perform administrative duties, including inputting pay, bonuses, and disposal information into company systems.
  • Proactively manage vehicles, liaising with fleet, ensuring safe vehicle operations, wheel security, and monitoring vehicle gross weights.
  • Supervise vehicle availability daily, ensuring drivers complete their checks per company policy.
  • Contribute to cost control by seeking efficiency improvements and reducing operating costs, e.g., analysing depot reports.
  • Complete administrative tasks for the Dispatch office, including timesheets, tachograph records, payroll, holiday rotas, and QLS resolution.
  • In collaboration with the Depot Manager, ensure delivery of mandatory training, induction, and toolbox talks per company policy.

  • Strong geographical knowledge of the local area.
  • Experience in the Services or Logistics industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Effective planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills.
